Rewild Learning
Let’s forge a creative partnership to design and pursue inspiring nature-based learning experiences. Immediately, participants and the curriculum can be transformed.
Every academic subject and group can work with outdoor spaces to get into their wild education. Building on personal sights and sensations, we further our ties to the natural world, and begin to satisfy our most important needs. To help us observe and explore we rely on a set of connecting tools, and a cycle of simple yet powerful teaching methods. There is a shared planning process, ongoing professional support designed, investigations on all sides and good health built into this good work.
As Earthlings, we are connected to the world in deep ecological ways - by our senses, our stories, our genes and the materials we exchange with each other. And so, we have sensory, cultural, genetic and chemical means, and 8 more specific Connectors to consider as we encounter and learn from our surroundings.
Along with these 12 Connectors, a deliberate set of teaching strategies is enlisted in order to facilitate our ongoing place-based studies. These steps outline an accessible cycle for leading wild schoolwork, and bolster everyday teaching and learning efforts. The movements are simple in nature, and yet help to realize extended personal and academic progress.
