RESEARCH OVERVIEW

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The Wild Education Research

The Real World is wild, complex, beautiful, includes rocks, trees, and water, and is in action right outside our doors.

Best educational practice is well documented and an ongoing vital research track for teaching and learning professionals. Educating Earthlings deploys a BUILD structure that relies on our strongest pedagogical tactics to do our best work more often, more readily and more instinctively.

The Real World Research

Our program of professional development and collaborative planning is intended for schools seeking to embed important assignments and projects in the natural world as provocation, resource and guide.

We are connected to the world in deep ecological ways - by our senses, our stories, our genes and the materials we exchange with each other. And so, we have sensory, cultural, genetic and chemical means, and 8 more specific Connectors to consider as we encounter and learn from our surroundings. Educating Earthlings describes this set of Connectors, and employs our BUILD framework for teachers. There is a shared planning process, ongoing professional support available, investigations on all sides and good health built into this good work.  The EE Field Guide structures the professional development, incorporates our BUILD teaching model, and can inspire every teacher to take steps off the beaten path and further into the real world.

We educate Earthlings by helping one another more firmly connect to our living world.

We encounter Educating Earthlings just outdoors, as the other-than-human creatures among whom we live and learn.

We become Educating Earthlings as we meet our needs to thrive, ask, learn, and so belong.
